Fancy Nancy Inspired Birthday Tea Party

Our daughter Blythe turned three this past week. It’s so true what they say, the days are long but the years are short. I’m almost in disbelief that I have a three-year-old. She’s grown so fast and watching her become a little person has been the highlight of our lives.

She’s also becoming quite the girly-girl. Her recent affinity with the Fancy Nancy books made for a perfect birthday theme. It gives me so much joy to make the ones I love feel celebrated. Blythe’s third birthday was no exception.

I found this Balloon Garland Kit on Etsy. It was my very first and it was surprisingly easy to put together.

No Fancy Nancy party would be complete without an “Ooh La La” sign. It’s Blythe’s signature catch phrase these days.

I love using wrapping paper for table runners. You don’t have to commit to a style or store them in your basement and you can use the paper for wrapping after. This paper is from Paper Source, in my opinion they have some of the most beautiful and unique selections I’ve seen.

These little Raspberry Shortbread Star cookies are from Trader Joe’s and they were such a hit. Check their bakery section out when throwing your next event, I’ve never had something I didn’t like and these little beauties were a steal!

This tea set was one of Blythe’s birthday gifts from us. We’ve used it every day since she’s gotten it and we have so much fun pretending to throw a proper English Tea (her accent is really coming along).

I found these plastic and mini porcelain stands at Target in their dollar section. ALWAYS check their dollar section. The deals you can find for entertaining, gifts, and decor are amazing.

I think that layering pieces make for such a pretty table. I found these doilies on Amazon, the plates and Crowns are from Pink Antlers Studio and the napkins match the wrapping paper from Paper Source.

Blythe’s favorite foods: Cookies, Cake and Popcorn. Mine too, kid. Mine, too… The cake topper I found on Etsy, isn’t it sweet? B loved the tutu.

Don’t underestimate boxed cake. I made a layered Strawberry and Funfeti Cake for my girl and everyone complimented the taste.

Making our sweet love feel like a princess on her special day made me one happy Mama. I mean, I would do pretty much anything to see that smile.

Until next time,

Melissa
